Servicing, repairs and fitting
Whether it is a routine service, a fault to chase down or a part to fit, we know these vans inside out because we break them too.
Servicing & maintenance
Routine servicing to keep your Transporter running right, from oil and filters to a full look over and general upkeep.
Repairs & diagnostics
Mechanical repairs and fault finding, from a warning light or running issue to a bigger job. Tell us the symptoms and we will take a look.
Fitting & retrofits
We fit parts, upgrades and accessories, from cup holders and trim to the used parts we supply from our own stock.
Transporter jobs we do most weeks
These are the faults that come through the door again and again. If yours is on the list, we have almost certainly fixed it before and usually have the part on the shelf.
VW Transporter sliding door repair
Doors that will not open, catch halfway or drop on the runner. Worn rollers, cables and lock mechanisms are the usual culprits, and often it is a cheap fix once you know what you are looking at.
Heater and blower motor faults
No heat, no fan, or a blower that only works on one speed. We diagnose the motor, resistor and controls, and we usually have a good used heater motor in stock to fit the same day.
Clutch, flywheel and gearbox work
Slipping clutches, heavy pedals, crunching changes and gearbox swaps on T5, T5.1 and T6. A big job done properly, with the van back to you as quickly as we can manage.
Coolant leaks and metal pipe replacement
The metal coolant pipes that run under the T5 are a known weak point and rot out with age. We replace pipes, hoses, thermostats and water pumps before an overheat turns into a much bigger bill.
Diagnostics and warning lights
Engine management, glow plug and ABS lights, limp mode and running faults. We read the codes, then actually chase the cause rather than throwing parts at it and hoping.
Servicing, oil and cambelts
Oil and filter services, cambelt and water pump changes, brakes and general upkeep, all to keep a working van earning rather than sitting on a ramp.
Not sure which of these it is? Tell us what the van is doing and we will tell you straight, including when the answer is that you do not need us yet. Our Google reviews are full of people we talked out of spending money.
A workshop that knows Transporters

Servicing questions and answers
Do you service and repair VW Transporters?
Yes. As well as breaking vans for used parts, our Fleetwood workshop services and repairs VW Transporter T5, T5.1 and T6 vans, and fits parts and upgrades.
Can you fit used parts to save money?
Often, yes. Because we break Transporters ourselves, we can fit good genuine used parts from our own stock instead of expensive new ones where it makes sense.
How do I book a service or repair?
Message or call 07512 129971 with your registration and what the van is doing. We will book you in and give you an idea of cost and timing.
Where are you and when are you open?
We are at Unit 1, Old Junella Building, Siding Road, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6NS. Open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm and Saturday 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
My T5 sliding door will not open. Can you fix it?
Almost always, yes. Sliding door faults are one of the most common jobs we see, usually worn rollers, a stretched cable or a tired lock mechanism. Message us what the door is doing and we will tell you whether it is a quick fix or a workshop job.
Can you diagnose a warning light before I commit to a repair?
Yes. We read the fault codes and tell you what we find and what it will cost before any work starts. If it turns out to be something simple you can sort yourself, we will say so.
Do you replace the metal coolant pipes on a T5?
Regularly. The underslung metal coolant pipes corrode with age on T5 and T5.1 vans. We replace pipes, hoses, thermostats and water pumps, and it is far cheaper to do before it lets go than after.
